Technicians / ServiceAirswift is looking for an I&E Quantity Surveyor to join a major LNG client in Port Arthur, TX, for an initial 1-year assignment likely to be extended. No per diem involved, local people preferred.
- Primary Purpose Monitor and quantify installed quantities, and report progress for construction and commissioning activities.
Duties and Responsibilities - Approximately 80% - 90% per day in field performing progress verification.
- Read and understand requirements of project contracts and specifications.
- Read and understand engineering documents i.e., P&IDs, isometrics, schematics, drawings, and calcs, one-line diagrams, Process Data Sheets, Instrumentation specifications, Loop Diagrams, Inst & Elect cables schedules, Junction Box schedules, etc.
- Experienced in the Material (quantity) take-off process.
- Perform field verifications and reporting of installed quantities progress per applicable rules of credit or other project-specific progress reporting systems.
- Provide evaluation and verification of earned values from Rules of Credit and Work Packages.
- Perform quantity audits both field and in-house and provide reports on findings.
- Hands-on experience with Smart Plant 3D Model / Navisworks / Microsoft Office functions / Primavera (P6).
- Attend progress report meetings onsite.
- Maintain guidelines and procedures for verification of progress measurement.
- Maintain "lessons learned" log for review and implementation.
- Perform daily data updates to SharePoint and Information management systems.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, project team members, and EPC contractor.
- Communicate project status using reporting tools and dashboards in a timely manner.
- Participate in the data collection and analyze project information to support the project schedule.
- Work closely with project team to ensure scope in all disciplines is consistent with scheduled activities and deliverables.
- Work closely with Project Management Team and ensure constant communication on issues and/or potential delays.
- Work closely with Contracts Administration Manager on Change Orders and provide input for analysis of delay claims or time extensions.
- Work closely with Risk Coordinator to provide input to evaluation of schedule impacts of risks.
- Work closely with Project Interfaces Manager to maintain close coordination of other aspects of the project.
- Provide input to the analysis of schedule delay claims and evaluation of recovery and accelerated schedule.
- Provide input to the analysis of critical activities and longest path activities.
- Provide "What-ifs" scenario analysis and reporting.
- Provide monthly reports in hard copies and in dashboard format regarding project status; issues; concerns; delays; and risks.
- Provide feedback to appropriate disciplines and management teams from requests of information.
- Provide data and information for technical, weekly, monthly reports and presentations.
- Organize and maintain reports and meeting notes/minutes in SharePoint.
- Organize and maintain project closeout documentations
Education - Associate's degree or higher in Instrumentation/Electrical or relevant experience required.
Experience - 5+ years of field experience in the execution of large/complex infrastructure projects in the oil and gas sector, including progress verification processes and procedures required.
- 5+ years of working within a team structure required.
- 2+ years of Quantity Surveying / Quantity Analyst field experience required.
- 2+ years of hands-on Primavera (P6) utilization / experience / Smart Plant 3D Model / Navisworks required.
- 2+ years of certified I&E QA/QC experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Good written and verbal communication.
- Perform work independently without constant supervision.
- Knowledge of construction installation processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quantity tracking.
- Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
