They have a permanent opportunity for a Site Engineer – Network and Telecommunications to be based at their onsite facility in Port Arthur, TX.

Position Summary
This is an onsite position, requiring the role holder to fully immerse themselves in all aspects of telecommunication and security systems maintenance. This position involves performing site acceptance testing, completing system hand-overs, and coordinating with OEM engineers during commissioning activities. Regularly working on multiple brown/greenfield projects, the successful candidate will provide troubleshooting and technical support to the company’s networking and telecommunications systems, alongside coordinating with engineering and integration teams to resolve technical faults. This role demands implementing solutions effectively to meet both internal and external client objectives.

Responsibilities

• On-site Maintenance of Telecommunication & Security Systems.
• Performing Site Acceptance Testing and completing system hand-over.
• Co-ordination with visiting OEM Engineers/Technicians during commissioning activities.
• Co-ordination with Engineering/Integration to resolve technical faults and issues.
• Troubleshooting and technical support during the warranty period.
• Managing Cisco networking systems remotely, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
• Handling and maintaining Fiber Optics, Fiber Optic Cabling, CCTV, Access Control Systems, LAN Systems, W-LAN, and Alarm/PAG Systems.
• Providing comprehensive support for ancillary systems alongside Cisco Networks.
• Ensuring all systems function cohesively to meet operational objectives efficiently.

 
Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in North American Oil and Gas Industry, supporting Telecommunications and Security Systems domain in system commissioning.
• Strong experience and understanding of following common systems in Oil & Gas (On/Offshore)
  • Fiber Optic Transmission Systems
  • Wireless/Local Area Network (W-LAN, LAN)
  • Storage Area Network
  • Structured Cabling Systems
  • CCTV, Access Controls
  • Alarm, PAG Systems
• Networking Certifications (CCNP, CCNA) are highly preferred.
  • Recognized certifications at professional or expert level in the other listed telecommunications & security systems.
• Associate/Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Preferred.
