JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Designer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our team in Atyrau/Almaty/Astana, Kazakhstan (for KZ passport holders).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• participates in basic design data gathering, resolving of technical issues on the project he is assigned to, during the entire period of engineering, construction, commissioning and reaching a projected capacity
• aligns discipline-related design decisions with those on other project disciplines
• ensures compliance of the designed projects and technical documentation with standards, specifications and other regulatory documents for design and construction as well as with the design task
• designs and modifies medium sized electrical systems to locate and install substation and field devices including standard drawings and data sheets. Prepare SLDs, data sheets, schematics, wiring diagrams for field substations and field equipment and control stations;
• prepare cable routing diagrams, cable tray and undergrounds design
• carry out data input and design work using Smart Plant Electrical
• incorporate out-sourced engineering company drawings into design ensuring conformity to client`s Standards and Specifications
• quality checks on all Drawing Office design documents within the discipline
• ensures that all design work complies with client`s Specifications & ASME, API and other applicable national and international standards (to be familiar with PUE requirements, SNIP and GOST standards)
• ensure that materials used in construction comply with client`s Specifications and requirements
• understand Drawing Office design input in accordance with engineering requirements. Review and issue drawings
• find information regarding SLDs, Data Sheets and Cable Schedules within the company Achives and Documentum system
• assist in preparation and issue of Construction Job packs
• identifies problems, tracks down data or drawings, proposes solutions, and gets buy-in from Lead Electrical Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS

• higher (technical) education
• work experience in the respective position no less than 10 years
• proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
• experience in developing design documentation in accordance with RoK regulatory documents
• experience on projects within EPC contract (Engineering, Supply and Construction)
