What's the role

As an Electrical Craftsmen, you will have the primary role of fabricating and repairing of equipment for the operating facilities. You will be completed in a safe, environmentally sound, and cost-effective manner utilizing the principles of the GAME-ME Process, Management of Change, and the Quality Improvement Process. Your role is established to clarify evolving expectations and encourage maximum individual contributions.

You will be expected to know and understand all the fore mentioned processes, and the repair standards for all equipment worked within their craft line. Also, you will be responsible for working with their supervisor to maintain their proficiency within their craft. Expected to learn and maintain craft skills associated with their jobs. You should be receptive to coaching and work towards continuous improvement of their skills and knowledge. You will be accountable for all their actions and responsible for meeting the performance standards and requirements set by management.

Accountabilities:
  • You will demonstrate a sound knowledge of all work practices pertaining to the Electrical craft
  • Knowledge and active involvement in the work permitting process and hazard identification
  • Knowledge and ability to use PPE commonly used by the Electrical craft; Chemical suits, breathing air, etc.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to use hand tools common to the Electrical craft
  • Ability to safely open a flange, bleeder, vessel or enclosed equipment
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to properly ensure decontamination of equipment before transporting
  • Maintain Electrical materials, fittings, tools, and equipment necessary for an efficient craft work
  • Safely operate JLG, forklift, jacks, chains hoists, tugger hoists, overhead cranes, etc.
  • Safely work from crane baskets, aerial platforms, etc.
  • Show knowledge and ability to properly use electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, one lines, wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of the various test equipment, VOM (volt ohm meters) meggers, thumpers, tracers
  • Ability to use GSAP
  • Show knowledge and ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturer directions
  • Complete and submit daily work reports and other basic required documents

What we need from you
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • You must have a minimum of 3 years in electrical experience or Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills required to work well and influence others internal and external to the company
  • Work at heights and confined spaces
  • Some overtime and after-hours coverage required
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and be on-call to respond to emergencies when required
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Ability to work safely wearing a respirator or Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
  • Willing to comply with Shell's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Willing to work in a diverse and team-oriented environment

  • You will report the AFC and DC in the Routine Maintenance Department at our Shell Deer Park. This position will work a weekday schedule with selected overtime
  • Must currently hold or be able to qualify to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. Note, information regarding TWIC qualification standards may be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
  • A condition of employment for this position is successful completion of a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, background check, driving record check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs

The rate for this position is $52.26. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
