ChampionX has an immediate need for a HVAC Technician/Facility Mechanic located in Sugar Land, TX. This position will support and maintain the foundational platforms including, air cooled systems, chillers, pumps, cooling towers and their water management. This position will also support miscellaneous equipment, immediate repair response and troubleshooting on a variety of campus equipment (air handlers, air compressors, heating units, heat pumps, exhaust fans, humidifiers, air driers, etc...) and a variety of general service request throughout the facility.

What You Will Do:
  • Assist with planning, scheduling and perform Preventive Maintenance (PM's) on platforms throughout the facility.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and manage shutdowns for maintenance and repair on infrastructure systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to all facility systems to assure business continuity.
  • Comply with and enforce safety, all city, state, and federal regulatory statues.
  • Document maintenance records as needed internally and for City, State, EPA inspections and audits.
  • Order and maintain parts inventory for on-site needs to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Prioritize work tasks to meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Must have High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • NATE and/or Section 608 Technician certification
  • 5+ years of experience in a commercial customer support environment

Preferred Skills, Abilities, Knowledge:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and comply with documents such as safety rules/regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Understanding of refrigeration recovery, evacuation, and charging.
  • Experience supporting heating cycles to include the heating system using a gas pressure test and other devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot and repair.
  • Basic ability to use multi-meters to confirm voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to assist with troubleshooting electrical circuits.
  • Control management over all types of systems and how each component within the system interacts. These systems include but are not limited to air cooled, water cooled, hot water systems, chilled water systems, VAV systems, and building automation control systems.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (up to 50 pounds), climb stairs/ladders daily.
  • Occasional weekday overtime availability, "on-call" rotation responsibility and work with frequent interruptions.
