Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Manager

KBR is seeking an exceptional Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Manager to lead a highly qualified group of Maintenance and Reliability Engineers, Analysts and Subject Matter Experts supporting reliability, maintainability, supportability and interoperability (RMSQI) projects for major USAF weapon systems. We support most USAF weapon systems and accomplish a variety of tasks to improve weapon system availability as well as identify and solve obsolescence issues. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of professionals to support various integrated project teams directly impacting the USAF warfighter. Our teams deliver high quality technical deliverables to the USAF that directly impact operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness (OSS&E) of major USAF weapon systems such as the F-16, A-10, T-38, F-22, F-35 and ICBM, making the warfighter more capable and effective in providing national security to our great nation.

The Manager leads a team focused on ensuring the reliability, availability, and maintainability of Air Force products, systems, or infrastructure. Responsible for developing and implementing reliability programs, analyzing failure data, and implementing solutions to improve reliability and reduce downtime. Collaborate with Engineering teams and Stakeholders to incorporate reliability considerations into design and processes. Identifies potential failures, analyses their root causes, and implements measures to prevent or mitigate them. Provides oversight and direction seeking to improve the reliability, durability, and performance of aerospace structures and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a professional team of maintenance and reliability engineers, analysts and subject matter experts to ensure we continue to have the most talented and trained individuals supporting our various integrated project teams
  • Work with a highly skilled team of program managers, engineers, analysts and subject matter experts to provide critical program management and technical analysis expertise to the government customer
  • Support integrated project teams ensuring the most qualified experts are supporting each project manager.
  • Responsible for technical/operational leadership of a project/mission or group of projects/missions within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts, collaborating with leadership and other stakeholders while promoting KBR's Quality Management System.
  • Develop and execute strategic improvement plans to maximize aircraft availability and minimize maintenance and sustainability costs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode investigations (FMEA) to diagnose and resolve reliability issues.
  • Oversee reliability-related projects, ensuring proper scope, planning, execution, and long-term sustainability.
  • Track and maintain reliability performance metrics, using data to drive decision-making.
  • Develop training programs for Maintenance and Reliability Engineers, Analysts, Air Force Maintenance Subject Matter Experts.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in reliability engineering.
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed.

Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence leadership.
  • Strong technical background in development of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); trend analysis, systemic & non-systemic, root cause analysis (RCA), failure analysis; and Corrective and Preventative Action (RCCA/PA)
  • Demonstrated performance in selecting appropriate Statistical Techniques to provide high-confidence, statistically significant, analyses in the field of Reliability Analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) application in data analytics.
  • Design phases of reliability, availability, maintainability, supportability, and logistics; system integration and testing; maintainability demonstrations; reliability demonstrations; growth planning and testing; and/or sparing analyses
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and/or selecting Digital tools and modelling techniques for Reliability Analysis
  • Champion analytical best practices across a diverse set of operational locations and cultures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel capabilities for data analysis and reporting.

  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) Certification
  • Defense Acquisition University Training (DAU)
    • CLCL 007: Product Support Analysis Credential
    • CLCL 016: Digital Product Support Credential
    • CENG 038: R&M Engineering Technical Activities (Plan, Design, and Procure) Credential
    • CENG 039: Life Cycle R&M Engineering Programmatic Activities Credential
  • AFIT Certificate in Data Analytics

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science or Statistics
  • 10+ years of experience (7 years with MS degree) in reliability engineering, industrial maintenance, and project engineering, with expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.)
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in maintenance or engineering management, mentoring reliability engineers and maintenance professionals.
  • The ability to obtain and retain a US Secret Clearance
