Job Title: Maintenance Advisor
Overview
As Maintenance Advisor, you will play a key role in enabling safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance execution at site. Acting as the main interface between the ROO and BOC maintenance teams and site operations, you will guide priorities, coach national staff, and ensure effective work management. Your influence, collaboration, and technical leadership will support timely execution of planned and unplanned maintenance while ensuring strong safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
Promotes a culture of open safety reporting, continuous improvement, and shared respect across a diverse workforce. Encourages team engagement and promote accountability aligned with ROO's values and behaviours.
Risk / Operating Discipline
Accountable for the safe execution of all maintenance activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards and risk management protocols. Maintains zero tolerance for overdue maintenance, particularly SCEs and anomalies, and ensures high-quality deferral processes.
Maintenance Execution
Accountable for effective and efficient asset maintenance across multi-discipline activities, including Preventive (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM). Conducts daily validation and maintenance planning meetings to ensure timely prioritization and approval of work. Leads compliance with standardized Work Management processes, including deferral management and risk mitigation. Oversees contractor-executed tasks by reviewing CTRs for scope quality, cost, resource utilization, materials, and duration. Manages scaffolding needs by initiating requests and ensuring prompt dismantling after completion. Maintains up-to-date records in the O&M tracker and supports reporting accuracy. Owns and maintains the ROO choke model for assigned sites to ensure plant vulnerabilities are understood, tracked, and addressed. Drives plant and equipment availability and supports reliability improvement initiatives, ensuring RCFA actions are followed through to closure.

Coaches and develops direct reports to support the nationalisation agenda, ensuring timely delivery of personal development plans aligned with the nationalisation plan.
Delivery, Optimization & Reliability
Recommends execution optimization opportunities to the METL and manages the 12-week maintenance activity schedule, deciding what enters the 2-week execution window. Ensures nesting of activities and addresses risks before scheduling, supports timely change management (MOC) and Engineering Queries to meet business objectives. Assists operations in returning plant to safe operation post-interventions, ensuring timely closeout of GOC paperwork, walkdowns, and PSSR sign-offs. Champions continuous improvement by standardizing best practices, optimizing maintenance strategy, materials staging, and maintenance build. Inputs and manages maintenance budgets for site TAR and train outages.
Experience, Qualifications & Key Skills
Interfaces
Collaborate closely with Maintenance Execution Team Leader, Scheduler, Coordinators, Work Prep Specialists, Site Operations, Planning, BOC execution teams, OTL, Operations and Discipline Advisors, Service Providers, PSCM/Materials, and HSE teams to ensure safe, efficient completion of maintenance activities, projects, and emergencies.
Procedures and Processes
The MA must have strong knowledge of key ROO procedures including Work Management & CMMS (with deferral process), Activity Planning and Scheduling, CTR procedures, Control of Work (HWNF, ORA, SORA, Containment, Ground Disturbance, CSE), MOC/EQ process, and GOC.
Summary of Decision Rights
The MA is responsible for stopping unsafe work or plant operations (with escalation to the Site Engineer or higher when necessary), recommends priority maintenance tasks to ensure safety and reliability, decides which activities enter the 2-week execution schedule, supports MC competency development, contributes to vulnerability assessments, and advises on prioritization of CoW and SIMOPS.

Experience, Qualifications & Key Skills
- Over 15 years' oil & gas experience, ideally with IOCs,
- Technical degree or HNC in engineering,
- Previous experience in Maintenance Lead or Superintendent roles,
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and CMMS (Maximo),
- Proven leadership of multi-discipline, multicultural teams,
- Skilled in hazard identification, communication, and priority setting,
- Results-driven with focus on continuous improvement,
- Experience in diverse, multilingual environments preferred.
