Service Onshore Finland is part of the Vestas Northern & Central Europe business unit, which focuses on selling, constructing, and operating onshore wind power plants. We are the market leader with an installed base of more than 1000 wind turbines across Finland. Vestas Finland Oy is headquartered in Vaasa and have service locations and activities in close to 20 municipalities in Finland.
We are a collaborative and enthusiastic team looking for our next Electrical Safety Lead to enable us to continue to deliver on our contractual promises while growing our business and maintaining solid customer relationships.
Responsibilities
As an Electrical Safety Lead (ESL) you will lead the team of Energy Control Coordinators (ECC) and ensure that team members performing work are selected, trained, authorized and audited accordingly
• Set strategic direction and act as Electrical Safety Lead, to represent/lead necessary electrical safety programmes and initiatives
• Support local operational management as SME (Subject Matter Expert) to ensure the work performed complies with legislation & Vestas' standards
• Legally appointed as Supervisor of Electrical Works (as per Electrical Safety Act), guiding the electrical work and ensuring the competence of employees as well as instructing them.
• Maintain and develop competences and structure in the team to provide Operation Manager of electrical installation services for defined sites.
• Provide demands required for technical guidance to field technicians. Define trainings and PPE requirements to comply with company and any local specific requirements.
• Act as an ambassador in terms of safety at work in relationship to the employees, Customers and subcontractors including investigating and acting on identified and reported hazardous observations, near misses or incidents.
Qualifications
• BSc or MSc from field of Electrical Engineering
• Electrical Qualification 1 (S1) certificate issued by SETI Oy (as per Electrical Safety Act)
• Fluency in English and Finnish language, both oral and written
Personal competencies
• Clear communication skills and stakeholder management at various levels
• Professional networker and team-focused approach: Able to connect and collaborate internally, utilizing others' key skills when necessary
• Proven high safety awareness
• Organized, with the ability to prioritize a range of tasks according to the need of the business, along with a solid attention to detail
