JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, the successful candidate will provide leadership and organise work crews to safely execute planned maintenance activities in accordance with Wood and Client Maintenance processes and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute approved work orders utilizing relevant client work procedures and permitting requirements
  • Act as initial on-site focal point for all safety, work execution/performance and industrial relations (IR) issues
  • Plans and organises work activities, in line with project schedules, in a timely manner to ensure information, materials, tools and equipment are available to avoid minimal disruption to workforce
  • Participate in daily operations meeting with client on maintenance and operation activities, projects & shutdowns, communicating schedule and task execution to the work force
  • Leads daily toolbox talks with site labour at the beginning of each day
  • Responsible for creating the necessary permits and risk assessments for work activities
  • Ensure timesheets are accurately recorded to the correct task / job and project the employees are allocated to
  • Ensure material, tools and equipment are fit for purpose, checked and certified prior to use
  • Actively promotes excellence in HS&E by coordinating onsite Safety programmes in coordination with client
  • Involved in recruitment of expat and national hires to fulfil workload as instructed by client
  • Provides consistent and visible supervision to individuals and the team in ensuring motivation and productivity
  • Actively works with project teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery of projects
  • Promotes the principles of fairness and equity in line with the company's stated core values


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical engineer or strong industry background with Trade Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with Heavy Equipment
  • Minimum 8 years supervisory experience in the Oil & Gas or similar industry
  • Minimum 5 years relevant craft labour experience
  • Previous experience managing work crews and teams with a blend of different cultures and nationalities
  • Previous experience in a remote location
  • Experience dealing with complex logistical, security and cultural issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously within the Contract
  • Sound influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with the client to understand requirements
  • Ability to provide technical insight and advice on a wide range of project areas
