Job Summary
KBR is seeking a highly motivated research engineer to work on multi-chip package (MCP) and radio frequency (RF) circuit board design. Knowledge of software packages such as Altium, AWR, ADS, or other comparable packages is required. Knowledge of heterogeneous integration (HI) fabrication processes including cleanroom-based processes (i.e. photolithography and plasma processing) as well as advanced packaging processes (i.e. circuit board patterning and lamination) is a plus. Candidate will work closely with the HI and advanced packaging teams to design layouts as needed for critical projects. This position is part of an interdisciplinary team including materials scientists, physicists, electrical engineers, and optical engineers at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

Key Responsibilities:
- MCP and RF circuit board design: Designing circuit boards using software packages such as Altium, AWR, ADS.
- HI fabrication: Fabricate devices using cleanroom processes (i.e. photolithography and plasma processing) as well as advanced packaging processes (i.e. circuit board patterning and lamination).
- Collaboration: Work closely with the HI and advanced packaging teams to design layouts as needed for critical projects.
Work Environment:
- Location: On-site at AFRL Sensors Directorate, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH
- Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
- Working Hours: Standard
Required Qualifications:
- Education Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field is required with 2 years of experience in electrical engineering field. Masters or PhD is highly desired
- Design Software Package experience: Knowledge of software packages Altium, AWR, ADS, or other comparable packages.
- Must meet AFRL requirements to access Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Desired:
- HI Fabrication Process experience: Experience in cleanroom-based processes (i.e. photolithography and plasma processing) as well as advanced packaging processes (i.e. circuit board patterning and lamination) is desired.
