Wood is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Scheduler Specialist to join its Singapore business unit focusing on planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities to ensure asset reliability and minimal downtime for a major onshore brownfield project in Basra, Iraq on 4x4 rotation.

This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq, with travel requirement.

Key Objectives

The Maintenance Scheduler Specialist plays a key role in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities to ensure asset reliability and minimal downtime. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed maintenance schedules, aligning necessary resources, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and tracking work execution progress.

The role also supports overall maintenance efficiency and compliance by ensuring the timely preparation of work orders, availability of materials, alignment with contracts, and coordination with PR/PO processes and budget resources.

Activities:

1. PM/CM/Shutdown Work Program Management
  • Develop and maintain annual and monthly maintenance work plans, covering PM, CM, and planned shutdowns.
  • Track execution progress and analyze deviations or variances, recommending corrective actions as needed to stay within budget and timeline.

2. Planning, Cost Control & Risk Management
  • Support the planning and execution of maintenance activities through cost estimation, benchmarking, and risk analysis.
  • Apply project control tools and techniques to support schedule optimization, resource allocation, and forecasting of cost/schedule risks.
  • Leverage automation tools and data analytics to improve planning accuracy, execution efficiency, and reporting quality.

3. Contract Management, Spare Parts & PR/PO Coordination
  • Monitor and report on small-scale maintenance projects and shutdown activities, ensuring consistency with contracts, available spare parts, and inventory strategies.
  • Analyze material usage trends and forecast future needs to ensure inventory stability and operational continuity.

4. Reporting, Analytics & Inventory Performance
  • Prepare and maintain dashboard reports, KPIs, and performance summaries for internal and management-level reviews.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making, budget planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support audit and compliance activities related to maintenance costs, execution quality, spare parts usage, and asset performance.
  • Monitor critical inventory levels and support optimization of stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.

Expected:
  • More than 10 years' experience in the Up-stream or Mid-Stream of the Oil and Gas maintenance planning, budgeting, or business support roles.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions; prepare clear and concise records, reports and other written materials.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with those encountered in the course of work.
  • Read and understand blueprints, manuals, drawing, specifications and processes diagrams pertaining to oil and gas industry.
  • Utilize data extraction abilities and process knowledge to participate in continuous process and data quality improvement initiatives.


Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and experience in oil & gas industry.
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
  • Proven supervisory experience with excellent behaviors and the ability to plan and measure as well as being hands-on
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written briefs and skilled in report writing and compilation
