Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all electrical commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through system turnover. Develop and maintain commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, and schedules aligned with project milestones and technical requirements. Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs (e.g., rotating machines and transformer vendors), testing specialists, and utility stakeholders to ensure alignment and readiness. Oversee and review FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), and energization procedures. Ensure all electrical systems are commissioned in accordance with applicable codes, standards (e.g., IEEE, NETA, NEC), and project specifications. Support the development of safe work permits, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and switching orders in collaboration with plant and grid operators. Ensure strict adherence to QA/QC protocols and maintain detailed documentation for commissioning packages and system handovers. Participate in HAZOP, risk assessments, and system walkdowns to ensure safe commissioning practices. Serve as the primary interface between construction, engineering, operations, and commissioning teams for electrical systems. Identify and resolve electrical commissioning issues, escalating risks or delays to project leadership as necessary. Provide leadership and mentoring to commissioning engineers and technicians on-site. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 10+ years of experience in electrical commissioning of power generation, transmission, or large-scale industrial facilities. Proven experience in commissioning rotating equipment, HV/MV switchgear, transformers, protection & control systems, and associated auxiliary systems. Strong knowledge of synchronous condensers or rotating machines preferred. Familiarity with NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and other relevant industry standards. Experience working with electrical test equipment and interpreting test results (e.g., insulation resistance, relay settings, Doble testing). Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule, if required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience on EPC projects or utility-scale commissioning projects. Experience with commissioning management tools (e.g., CMS software, SmartPlant, etc.). Professional Engineer (PE) license or NETA Level III/IV certification is a plus. OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
