The Maintenance Manager - Hydraulic, Lubrication & Water Systems proactively supports mill operations through the maintenance, design, and optimization of fluid power systems. Oversee hydraulic, lubrication, and industrial water systems throughout the mill, including rolling mill, shears, coilers, auxiliary equipment, and other critical systems. Play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient plant operations. Manage team members by establishing clear objectives, fostering professional growth, and promoting collaboration and engagement to achieve department and company goals. The position is on site.

Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and hands-on troubleshooting for hydraulic, lubrication, and water systems including pumps, cylinders, servo/proportional valves, chillers, motors, logic valves, cylinders, heat exchangers, filtration units, and piping networks.
- Manage team by establishing clear objectives, monitoring performance, encouraging professional development, and promoting collaboration and engagement among team members.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure maximum equipment reliability, safety, and performance.
- Design, maintain, and optimize hydraulic, lubrication and water systems for mill equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve system reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations for hydraulic/lubrication/water related breakdowns.
- Review and revise system schematics, piping and tubing layouts, and ensure as-built documentation is kept up to date.
- Manage fluid cleanliness programs including sampling, analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Monitor hydraulic system performance (pressure, temperature, cleanliness) and perform preventive maintenance to avoid system failures.
- Coordinate with vendors, service companies, and contractors for timely and cost-effective repairs and installations.
- Plan and organize outages, ensure availability of parts and components, and oversee project execution.
- Support capital projects involving fluid system scope, including equipment selection, design input, and commissioning.
- Maintain CMMS records, BOMs, procedures, and technical documentation.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, or a closely related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in hydraulic, lubrication, and water systems maintenance in a heavy industrial setting (steel industry preferred.)
- Leadership abilities and management skills; management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of fluid system components, design principles, and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to interpret schematics, piping diagrams, and OEM manuals.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, water schematics, Piping and Instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
- Excellent knowledge of maintenance performance standards.
- Experience writing procedures.
- Experience with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office applications; familiar with AI tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Fluid Power Engineer certification (CFPS) preferred
