If you're a Lean-minded engineer with a strong electrical and automation background, Emerson has an outstanding opportunity for you at our Crossridge Manufacturing Facility in Houston, Texas.

As an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer, you will drive both operational excellence and technical expertise in manufacturing. You will improve production processes and layouts, support advanced electrical/mechanical assemblies, and ensure seamless integration of controls and communication systems. By combining your Lean leadership with hands-on technical knowledge, you'll help us achieve our goals of Best Customer Service and Perfect Execution.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the deployment of Lean practices across manufacturing operations to improve flow, reduce waste, and standardize work.
  • Work hands-on with electrical and electromechanical assemblies, including PLCs, controls, PCBA, motors, and power cards.
  • Support firmware, configuration, and communication protocol troubleshooting of products during manufacturing.
  • Apply working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, HART, MQTT, etc.) to support product and process integration.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure robust automation and controls systems are implemented, tested, and sustained.
  • Facilitate Kaizen, SMED, and continuous improvement events that strengthen safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Actively participate in Daily Management and GEMBA to identify issues, coach teams, and implement corrective actions.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Automation, or related technical field).
  • 3+ years of Lean implementation experience with measurable, sustainable results.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, controls, and automation systems.
  • Experience with electrical/mechanical assemblies, including firmware flashing, configuration, and validation.
  • Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, HART, MQTT, etc.).
  • Demonstrated use of Lean tools such as VSM, 5S, Standard Work, Continuous Flow, and Material Flow.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with PCBA, power cards, and motors.
  • Familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS) principles.
  • Prior experience supporting automation integration within a high-mix manufacturing environment.
