Senior Electrical Test Engineer

ABOUT YOU

As the Senior Test Engineer, you will work closely with clients to evaluate their products and documentation to ensure they meet specific requirements of the applicable test standards. You will also involve working across all departments within UK Electrical, providing technical support to operations, sales, and marketing.

Required skills and experience:
  • Relevant Electrical/Electronic formal qualifications or degree
  • Good IT Skills, experience with excel, word and data retention systems
  • Experience of working in accordance with a Quality Management System
  • Attention to detail and ability to navigate/interpret ambiguity of standards
  • Strong lab/test/data analysis/troubleshooting/reporting skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other members of the team
  • Proven background in, Grid Code, inverters, EV charging, BESS, energy storage
  • Experience and knowledge in multiple electrical safety standards e.g. EN 50549 / UL 1741 or other national standards / 62477 / 62933
  • Safety critical function design/electrical product development/grid compliance/high voltage
  • Experience with Yokogawa system, or other data acquisition and analyser tools, AC/DC simulators, RLC load bank and communication interfaces


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Key activities:
  • Responsible for assessing training of the technical staff and development of new training programs
  • Provide on-going mentoring and guidance on technical issues, procedures, and standards interpretations
  • Provide quotes for a large array of standards and complex projects and products
  • Research new standards, technologies, and trends in standards
  • Support accreditations activities such as audit follow-up and corrective actions
  • Recommend and prepare capital expenditure requests and manage capital projects
  • Manage assigned projects within Intertek guidelines
  • Assess technical documentation and processes against standard requirements
  • Develop, set up, and follow established test plans
  • Provide project updates to customers, as well as management
  • Reviewing and signing off other engineers projects and test reports
  • Provide technical support for internal and external audits
