Job Summary:

The Piping Mechanical Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems at a biofuels plant during its construction phase. This role involves ensuring that all piping works are executed in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and within the scheduled timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Management:
• Supervise and manage piping installation activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and quality execution of piping works.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Technical Oversight:
• Review and interpret piping and mechanical drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Ensure that all piping systems are installed correctly and are in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Address and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that arise during the construction phase.
• Quality Assurance:
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures for all piping installations.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests of piping systems to ensure they meet the required standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and any corrective actions taken.
• Safety Management:
• Ensure that all piping activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and project-specific safety plans.
• Promote a culture of safety among all site personnel, conducting regular safety meetings and audits.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Liaise with other construction disciplines to ensure effective coordination of piping activities with overall project plans.
• Communicate regularly with the construction manager and other stakeholders to provide updates on progress, issues, and resolutions.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports and documentation as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in piping and mechanical supervision in an industrial construction environment, preferably in the biofuels, oil & gas, or petrochemical sectors.
• Proven track record of managing piping installations for large-scale construction projects.
• Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM).
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software and tools.
• Certifications:
• Relevant certifications in piping and mechanical construction (e.g., PMP, API 570) are a plus.
• OSHA or equivalent safety certification is preferred.

Working Conditions:

• The position is based on-site at the biofuels plant construction location.
• Requires the ability to work in varying weather conditions and environments.
• Extended hours and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.

Functiesamenvatting:

De Piping Mechanical Supervisor zal toezicht houden op en coördineren van de installatie, testen en inbedrijfstelling van leidingsystemen in een biofuelcentrale tijdens de bouwfase. Deze rol omvat het waarborgen dat alle leidingwerkzaamheden worden uitgevoerd in overeenstemming met projectspecificaties, veiligheidsnormen en binnen de geplande tijd.

Belangrijkste Verantwoordelijkheden:

• Toezicht en Beheer:
• Toezicht houden op en beheren van leidinginstallatie-activiteiten, waarbij wordt gewaarborgd dat deze voldoen aan projectplannen en specificaties.
• Coördineren met aannemers, onderaannemers en leveranciers om tijdige en kwalitatieve uitvoering van leidingwerkzaamheden te garanderen.
• Regelmatige site-inspecties uitvoeren om de voortgang te monitoren en naleving van veiligheidsnormen te waarborgen.
• Technisch Toezicht:
• Beoordelen en interpreteren van leiding- en mechanische tekeningen, specificaties en projectplanningen.
• Ervoor zorgen dat alle leidingsystemen correct worden geïnstalleerd en voldoen aan de relevante codes en normen.
• Technische problemen of discrepanties die zich tijdens de bouwfase voordoen, aanpakken en oplossen.
• Kwaliteitsborging:
• Implementeren en handhaven van kwaliteitscontroleprocedures voor alle leidinginstallaties.
• Regelmatige inspecties en tests van leidingsystemen uitvoeren om te garanderen dat ze voldoen aan de vereiste normen.
• Nauwkeurige registratie bijhouden van inspecties, tests en eventuele corrigerende maatregelen.
• Veiligheidsbeheer:
• Ervoor zorgen dat alle leidingactiviteiten worden uitgevoerd in overeenstemming met veiligheidsvoorschriften en project-specifieke veiligheidsplannen.
• Een cultuur van veiligheid bevorderen onder al het sitepersoneel door regelmatig veiligheidsvergaderingen en -audits te houden.
• Coördinatie en Communicatie:
• Contact onderhouden met andere bouwdisciplines om effectieve coördinatie van leidingactiviteiten met algemene projectplannen te waarborgen.
• Regelmatig communiceren met de bouwmanager en andere belanghebbenden om updates te geven over voortgang, problemen en oplossingen.
• Regelmatige voortgangsrapportages en documentatie voorbereiden en indienen zoals vereist.

Kwalificaties en Ervaring:

• Opleiding:
• Bachelor in Werktuigbouwkunde of een gerelateerd veld. Equivalent ervaring kan in overweging worden genomen.
• Ervaring:
• Minimaal 7-10 jaar ervaring in leiding- en mechanisch toezicht in een industriële bouwomgeving, bij voorkeur in de biofuels, olie & gas of petrochemische sectoren.
• Aantoonbare ervaring in het beheren van leidinginstallaties voor grootschalige bouwprojecten.
• Vaardigheden en Competenties:
• Sterke kennis van leidingsystemen, materialen en installatietechnieken.
• Bekendheid met relevante codes en normen (bijv. ASME, API, ASTM).
• Uitstekende leiderschap- en teammanagementvaardigheden.
• Sterke probleemoplossende vaardigheden en oog voor detail.
• Bekwaam in het lezen en interpreteren van technische tekeningen en specificaties.
• Goede communicatie- en interpersoonlijke vaardigheden.
• Vaardigheid met bouwmanagementsoftware en tools.
• Certificeringen:
• Relevante certificeringen in leiding- en mechanische bouw (bijv. PMP, API 570) zijn een pluspunt.
• OSHA of gelijkwaardige veiligheidscertificering heeft de voorkeur.

Werkomstandigheden:

• De functie is op locatie bij de bouwlocatie van de biofuelcentrale.
